PhD position on Big Data and Industrial Internet-of-Things
Mid Sweden University is an international research university focused on the development of science and education. Mid Sweden University has 16.000 students and 1100 employees.
The Department of Information and Communications Systems in Sundsvall is opening 1 PhD student position for a highly motivated individual interested in conducting outstanding research in the area of big data and Industrial Internet-of-Things. Specifically, the focus will be on the development of a data analysis system for large-scale sensor networks. The aim is to increase the industry's capacity for data management. The project involves close collaboration with Bosch Rexroth and other international companies.
Qualifications: The candidate should have a MSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent. Strong background in areas of mathematics, statistics, distributed systems, and optimization is needed. Experiences on data mining and machine learning will be very valuable. We expect the student to have demonstrated ability to do research, fluent verbal and written English. It is expected that students at Mid Sweden University do internationally competitive research and publish in top venues.
