Shui Yu received his B.Eng (Electronic Engineering) and M.Eng (Computer Science) degree from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, P. R. China in 1993 and 1999, respectively. He also obtained an Associate Degree in Mathematics from the same university in 1993. He received his PhD (Computer Science) from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia, in 2004. He is currently a Senior Lecturerof the School of Information Technology, Deakin University, Australia.

Dr Yu’s current research interests include network security, privacy and forensics, networking theory, and mathematical modeling. He targets on narrowing the gap between theory and applications using mathematical tools. He has published more than 100 fully reviewed papers, including top journal papers and top conference papers, such as IEEE Transactions of Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Transactions on Computers, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Transaction on System, Man, and Cybernetics, Part B, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE INFOCOM.

Dr Yu is active in research services in various roles. He serves the editorial board of IEEE Transactions of Parallel and Distributed Systems and three other International journals. He is a guest editor for a number of special issues. He is also involved in organizing international conferences, such as symposium co-chair for CISS of IEEE ICC 2014, IEEE ICNC 2014, publication co-chair for IEEE Globecom 2015, TPC member for INFOCOM 2014, 2013, 2012.
