National College of Ireland (NCI), Dublin, Ireland advertises one postdoctoral researcher position (up to 30 months fixed term contract)on NEWTON- an European project (http://www.newtonproject.eu/ ).
The primary focus of the Postdoctoral Researcher (PDR) will be to perform research on the EU-funded project NEWTON in the area of technology enhanced e-learning, to collaborate with the other partners of the NEWTON project and to actively publish research findings in high impact journals and at key conferences.
On the scientific side, the goals are:
·To contribute with innovative learning pedagogical methods that make use of technology when teaching STEM subjects in secondary schools and 3rd level education institutions.
·To research innovative multi-sensorial media (mulsemedia) content delivery solutions that make use of olfactory, gustatory, tactile, and thermoceptive sensations, and how these can be employed for learner benefit.
·To design and build User Models that support content personalisation and adaptation
·To assess the learning performance and learner satisfaction as result of applying various pedagogical methods.
Novel concepts emerging from the performed research will be validated experimentally by integrating them into the teaching and learning process of a number of subjects.
Contract duration: up to 30 months fix term
